Counseling Services
The foundational principles of my work as a therapist come from Person-Centered therapy, which is rooted in genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. My approach is non-judgmental and collaborative— coming alongside you in the face of life’s challenges while helping you to cultivate contentment and hope. In addition to Person-Centered therapy, I also integrate evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you develop coping skills and transform thinking patterns that are no longer useful to you.
I have specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and in grief and loss. I have clinical interests in working with mothers and parents who are struggling with their moods related to pregnancy and postpartum, infertility issues, and perinatal loss/miscarriage. Additionally, I have enjoyed supporting clients through issues like OCD, generalized anxiety, and adjustment disorders.
I believe that all people are inherently worthy of being treated with dignity and respect. Our work together is grounded in empathy and honors the impact that your individual background, culture, values, and belief systems have had on your life. As a Christian, I can integrate biblical principles into our work if desired. Your personal beliefs, values, and identity will always be respected in therapy.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
